FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

DOES IT HURT?

Acupuncture, Microneedling, and Nanoneedling employ the use of small, sterile needles into specific sites on the body. Many describe this process being painless, but there are a variety of sensations experienced. A small pinch may be felt with needle insertion. After insertion, a heaviness, tingling, or warmth may be felt in treated areas. Acupuncture releases a flood of calming and pain reducing hormones, giving a relaxed feeling during and immediately after treatment. Some may even fall asleep during an acupuncture session.

IS IT SAFE?

Acupuncture, herbal medicine, and other allied therapies of Traditional Asian Medicine are safe when performed by a trained and licensed provider. Practitioners complete an extensive didactic and clinical masters program to become licensed in their state and sit for national board exams. Some practitioners go on to specialize their practice in a certain area and go on to complete a doctorate as well.

Herbal medicines used come from lab-tested sources, checked for heavy metals, pesticides, and contaminants, and are compounded in an FDA-registered, cGMP facility.

WHAT RESULTS CAN I EXPECT?

After the initial evaluation, a treatment plan will be presented, including treatment frequency, schedule of reassessment, and expected results.

Most people feel relaxed during and immediately after an acupuncture treatment. While you may see quick progress in your area of concern, it may also return but to a lesser degree. On average, more lasting results are seen after 4-6 treatments.

Microneedling and Nanoneedling can show results a few days after treatment which then builds after subsequent. Full results are generally seen after 6 sessions.

RF Cavitation also may show early results. A full course is 10-12 sessions, with full results seen 12 wks after the final treatment.

HOW OFTEN DO I NEED TREATMENT?

After the initial evaluation, a treatment plan will be presented, including treatment frequency, schedule of reassessment, and expected results.

On average, acupuncture is recommended 1-2 times per week until desired results are acheived. A typical initial course of acupuncture is 3-6 mos of regular treatment.

Microneedling is done once a month, or twice a month for the treatment of hair loss. Full results are seen with 6 sessions or 12 sessions when treating hair loss.

Nanoneedling and Cosmetic Acupuncture can be given weekly, until desired results acheived.

RF Cavitation is recommended twice weekly for 10-12 sessions.

HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?

Once desired results are achieved, you will be advised on a preventative or maintenance schedule to fit your needs.

A short refresher course of acupuncture (4-6 sessions) 1-3 times per year is good for prevention or maintenance in most cases.

The results of Cosmetic Acupuncture, Microneedling, and Nanoneedling may last 2-4 years in some individuals depending on lifestyle practices. Short refresher courses of treatment are recommended 1-2 times per year for most to maintain results at the fullest level.

Reduction of adipose tissue with RF Cavitation is permanent. For maintenance of cellulite or skin tightening, a course of 2-4 sessions 1-3 times per year is recommended for most.

CAN I DO THIS ALONG WITH OTHER THERAPY?

Yes. Patients are advised to follow the treatment plan and take prescribed medications from their doctor. Please share your complete medical history, including diagnosis, prescribed medications, allergies, surgical and hospitalization history, over the counter supplements and vitamins, hormonal birth control usage, and pregnancy status. This ensures your treatment can be tailored to you safely and effectively. Certain cosmetic therapies might require specific scheduling around the use of fillers, botox, laser, or peels.

IS THIS THE SAME AS DERMAL ROLLER OR HOME USE PENS?

All equipment used for Microneedling, Nanoneedling, and Light Therapy is professional grade and not available for home use. The use of professional equipment ensures safe and effective treatment. Many pens and dermal rollers sold to the general public employ needle shape and depth that unnecessarily damages the skin. Home use pens are not made to last, with low RPM’s that tear the skin surface and unsterile parts that touch treated areas. All of this can prolong recovery and increase the incidence of infection or scarring.

HOW ARE YOU MANAGING COVID RESTRICTIONS?

Safety is always a priority, and we will continue to follow state board advisements as they evolve. Currently, appointment times are spaced to allow for thorough disinfection of treatment and common areas in between each person, your provider is vaccinated and regularly tested, air filters are used throughout the space, disposable tools, surface coverings, and PPE are used where needed.

WILL INSURANCE PAY?

Insurance is not accepted at this time. You can request a superbill or invoice to seek insurance reimbursement or to use your HSA balance for treatment.

DO YOU OFFER PAYMENT PLANS?

After initial evaluation and discussion of a treatment plan, patients are encouraged to purchase a treatment program package that fits their needs. There are programs for all the various services offered which significantly reduces out of pocket costs. This is the ideal choice to commit to a course of treatment and receive the full clinical results. See the booking page for treatment programs and payment schedules.

We respect your time and make all efforts to run on schedule. We understand that unexpected things can happen, but ask that if you need to cancel or reschedule, do so at least 24 hrs in advance. Please allow time for travel so you are able to enjoy a full treatment session. Treatment times will not be extended for late arrivals, and those 20 min late or more will not be seen.
